The Lapland scout district covers 23 local groups and around 1,500 active members. It belongs to the Guides and Scouts of Finland and the international scouting movement. Teams support weekly activities through regional work, education, communications and sustainability.
The district organises camps, events and training and recruits adult volunteers. Scout merchandise and uniforms are sold at its office. Members decide matters at spring and autumn meetings, with the board elected in autumn.
