Founded in 1927 alongside the first winter games, the sports club has sections for skiing, orienteering, biathlon, and ski jumping and Nordic combined. Its training path runs from beginner ski school through junior competition groups to elite sport. Its history includes the Pöyliövaara large ski jump, built in 1937 and destroyed in 1944.
Orienteering schools cater for children and adults, and there is a shooting range at Toramo. The club organises winter competitions and youth orienteering events. It runs Punainen tupa, a former exhibition pavilion used for the first competition roll call. The entrance and parking are wheelchair accessible.
