Founded in 1972, the association handles production, ticket sales and marketing for the opera festival staged at Olavinlinna Castle. It has around 600 members, mainly individuals alongside some businesses.
Membership is open to anyone. The association serves groups and travel organisers and recommends accommodation, restaurants and other local services. An elected council appoints the board, while a subsidiary handles ancillary commercial activities.
