Founded in 1986, this film festival takes place in June during the midnight sun, about 120 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle. Four venues screen films around the clock, mixing classics, contemporary cinema, Finnish productions and children's films.
The programme includes morning discussions with guest filmmakers, critic-led masterclass screenings, music-film karaoke and silent-film concerts. A registered association organises the event and provides travel and accommodation information on its website.
