Pentti Valkeinen founded this Tampere family business in 1976, and since 2004 it has been run by his son Mikael. It makes orthopaedic special footwear, made-to-measure shoes, care shoes and orthopaedic and support insoles to each customer's measurements, all by hand in its own factory with no subcontracting. Shoes can also be altered and repaired.
Individual footwear for first-time customers takes about 1–6 weeks, insoles and care shoes about a week. Footwear has a six-month fit guarantee and a 12-month warranty. Items can also be delivered to a home or care facility, where the fit is checked in person. The entrance and car park are wheelchair accessible.
