This Tampere University unit for language and communication studies belongs to the Faculty of Education and Culture and has about 60 teachers. Its courses count towards degrees, and free-choice options include speech communication, academic writing, English and Swedish. Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, French, German and Russian are also taught, and Finnish as a second or foreign language up to the intermediate level of the YKI language test.
Teaching takes place in the Pinni B building on the city centre campus and in the main building of the Hervanta campus, and Erasmus exchange students assist on German courses. University students find guidance in the Student Guide.
