The university's theatre arts programme offers five years of actor training, combining artistic, professional and social perspectives. Its training history began in 1967. Teaching staff also conduct research, with the Esiintymisen ääret group exploring performing arts through artistic and applied research.
Students are admitted every second or third year, with two year groups studying at once. Teaching takes place on a studio stage in the university's main building. International work involves the Norteas network, Erasmus partners and Coventry University. Students can use an accessible entrance and accessible parking.
