The Pyynikki Observation Tower in Tampere offers a panoramic view from the top. In the tower café the same family has made handmade doughnuts to an original recipe for almost 40 years, fresh every day. They also come vegan and gluten-free, the coffee is roasted by the local Kahwe Roastery, and savoury pies and breads are on offer too.
Tower tickets are sold in the café, and nursery and school groups with a teacher go up free. A lift takes you up, but there are 12 steps from the lift to the platform and two short steps at the entrance, and the toilets are not accessible. Cash, cards and MobilePay are accepted. Parking is limited, with a disabled space right by the café.
