The residential care unit provides round-the-clock support for older clients with mental health and substance use needs. Staff include practical and registered nurses, with a supervisor present at night. Weekly activities include exercise, baking, crafts, music, films and discussion.
Each resident has a personal caregiver to plan and monitor care, with relatives welcome to participate. Residents help with household chores according to their abilities and have laundry facilities, a yard, a large balcony and sauna sessions. A doctor visits about every three weeks. Dental hygiene, physiotherapy, hairdressing and foot care can also be arranged.
You can describe your experience of dealing with the residential unit in the comments for other families.
