Run by Tampereen Aluetaksi Oy, this taxi dispatch service has operated for more than 30 years and works with about 1,000 taxi operators and over 1,200 cars. Its round-the-clock dispatch centre handles nearly a million calls a year, covering Tampere, Pirkkala, Nokia, Ylöjärvi, Kangasala and Lempäälä.
Taxis can be ordered by phone, by WhatsApp for immediate rides only, or through a free app that requires registration. Booking ahead is recommended, especially for airport trips. Thanks to a shared app network, the same app also works for ordering taxis in other Finnish cities and abroad. Kela-funded trips are booked on a separate free number.
