Founded in 1992, the association publishes the volunteer-produced quarterly philosophy magazine niin & näin. Its book series, launched in 2002, has over 100 titles. The Filosofia.fi portal, active since 2007, includes the Logos online encyclopedia, digitised philosophy archives and an extensive Swedish-language section.
The association organises seminars, discussions and public lectures and attends book fairs and cultural events. It works with other publishers and cultural organisations. The magazine follows Finnish journalistic guidelines and the Council for Mass Media's basic agreement.
