Founded in 1936, the local branch of the Finnish Hard of Hearing Association provides advocacy, cooperation and services for people with hearing impairments. Its roughly 430 members have hearing evenings, clubs and meetings.
Trained volunteers help with hearing aid use and maintenance. Meetings are held for cochlear implant users and people considering one. Events offer captioning and a hearing loop. People with hearing impairments and family members can join.
