Founded in 1886, the members' club brings together people active in business and public life. Its founding meeting involved 24 men and followed a one-person, one-vote principle. It was created as a shared meeting place for trade and craft and manufacturing associations.
Member activities include networking, hobbies, social gatherings and discussion of trade, industry and culture. Four historical publications document the club's activities. The website presents its club premises.
