Completed in 1884, the Orthodox church is the oldest in the Northern Finland parish. It was designed by Frans Anatolius Sjöström and rebuilt in the 1980s under architect and dean Matti Porkka.
Parish services include worship, baptism, naming rites and Orthodox weddings. Arrangements and examination of impediments to marriage are handled by the parish office. Both access into the premises and parking accommodate wheelchairs.
