On Ruissalo island in Turku, this park has drawn outdoor visitors since the 1800s, when it was known as the Public Promenade. A foundation runs it, and Ruisrock is its biggest annual event. The grounds include a beach, a headland with a jetty, a playground, a nature trail and an old restaurant building with a party hall, and a promenade leads past lace-trimmed villas towards Pikku-Pukki.
The park suits day trips and picnics, with a barbecue, picnic tables and public toilets, and dogs are allowed. It is suitable for children, the large car park is accessible, and a cycle path crosses the island. The party hall can be booked by phone or email. Visits usually take 15 minutes to an hour.
