This cargo area of the Port of Turku was developed for ro-ro traffic and also handles vehicle imports and heavy project cargo. Facilities include a container terminal and depot, two container freight stations, storage for dangerous goods, access control and computerised cargo tracking. Reefer containers can be heated or cooled, and four light halls allow cargo handling in any weather.
The yard covers 255,000 m², with 35,000 m² of storage run by the port and 8,500 m² run privately. A 4.1 km rail track links to the national network. The quay is 1,050 m long and 8.5–10 m deep, with three cranes and five ro-ro ramps.
