The cliff rises 27 metres above sea level on Vepsä, a City of Turku recreation island in the middle of the open Airisto sea. From the top the view stretches towards Satava, Nauvo and Rymättylä, and the island was once a hideout for smugglers.
In summer, water buses run to the island several times a day from the west bank of the Aura River in Turku, with timetables and tickets on the operator's website. The island has a swimming beach, a kiosk and a café-restaurant that open while the regular ferry service runs, plus saunas, boats and canoes for hire, holiday cottages, tent pitches and a guest harbour.
