Opened in 1896, the Turku Market Hall is the second-oldest market hall in Finland. Built of brick and wood, it is in the highest protection class as a highly valuable cultural-historical site. Its traders range from long-established businesses to more recent arrivals, and together they offer a wide choice of delicacies.
Seasonal celebrations are held through the year, including May Day, Midsummer and Christmas, and the Shrove Tuesday bun season is an occasion of its own. A visit usually takes 20 minutes to an hour. The entrance and toilets are accessible, there are accessible parking spaces, and cards and mobile payments are accepted. The website is available in Finnish, Swedish and English.
