Active in Turku since 1871, this association works against the mistreatment of animals in all its forms. It gives advice by phone and runs an emergency line, rehomes abandoned, seized and mistreated animals, cares for wild animals in a separate facility, and uses a rescue vehicle for demanding cases, also assisting the authorities. Its work is funded entirely by membership fees and donations.
Donations of food and supplies are accepted mainly at its main building, Pesä; please phone ahead. Pet food, milk replacer, toys and litter are welcome, but mattresses, pillows, large rugs and prescription medicines are not. The premises are not wheelchair accessible.
