Founded in 1893, the Christian temperance society follows an Evangelical Lutheran confession. It welcomes people seeking to build an alcohol-free environment, including seekers and non-members. It hosts parish-type activities without being a parish.
The society runs Keltainen Tupa, a low-threshold meeting place with activities on certain weekdays and computers and internet access for seniors. It helped establish the alcohol-free Lomavalkama holiday centre in Kustavi, operating since 1967. A foundation has managed the society's residential building since 2000.
