The foundation supports the university through grants distributed from the income of its funds. It offers named endowment funds and accepts donations and bequests, with assets managed by its own investment staff.
Its office is located at the university. Activities include an annual Baltic history seminar organised with Estonia since 2009. The foundation publishes news, newsletters and annual reports.
