The beach and sauna are run by Turun Avantouimarit ry, a Turku winter swimming club with about 800 members. The sauna and changing rooms are open in winter, and after a hot session and an ice-cold dip you can warm up with a hot drink in the club room. The beach is about 5 km from the city centre.
On Thursdays the facilities are for members only. Bring a swimsuit, a towel, a small towel to sit on and slippers or socks, and move slowly, as paths, steps and floor tiles can be slippery. There is parking, and buses 9 and 9a run from the Market Square. Membership applications are made on a form, and members are happy to guide newcomers.
