Founded in 1920, this Turku university is an academic community of about 25,000 students and staff across three campus areas. Its eight faculties include Medicine, Technology and the Turku School of Economics, and separate units include a PET centre, the Finnish ESO centre and a bioscience centre.
Services include a library, and the website explains study options, how to apply and courses at the Open University. Seminars, lectures and Studia Generalia talks are open to the public, and the institution publishes Aurora magazine and the Tiedelinja podcast. A campus map is available online. The car park and entrance are step-free.
