Owned by nine municipalities, the wholesale water company supplies drinking water to its member municipalities. It produces artificial groundwater from the Kokemäenjoki river: pre-treated water is infiltrated into a sand and gravel esker, flowing through it for around three months.
The company supplies about 23 million cubic metres annually to around 300,000 users. It has developed regional water supply for more than 40 years. A small hydro turbine at the end of a main pipeline generates part of its electricity.
