Does the assistant know your business? Where its answer comes from
More and more people ask a machine for a recommendation instead of a search engine. The answer comes as one paragraph, without a list of links, and it names two or three places. If you are not named, the customer never sees you.
The machine does not invent names. It assembles the answer from what has been written about you elsewhere: directories, reviews, your own site and articles that mention you. When the information contradicts itself, the machine picks the safer option, and that is someone else.
So the work is the same as before, only stricter. The same name and address everywhere. A clear description of what you do and for whom. Questions and answers on your own page in the words a customer actually uses.
There is no trick for this, and the place cannot be bought. Madloba Consult has written out where an assistant's answer about a business comes from.
How to check it yourself
- Ask the assistant for a recommendation in your own field and your own city.
- See whether you are named, and in what words.
- Compare those words with what your own page says.
Questions
Do we need a separate page for this?
No. The same pages work, if they answer real questions in plain words.
How do we check it?
Ask the assistant the question a customer would ask, in your own city, and see who gets named.
