This local branch of the National Coalition Party was founded in 1961 and, according to its website, is the oldest and largest Kokoomus organisation in the area. Its work centres on municipal policy: residents' wellbeing, business and employment, public finances, the environment and safety. It runs a candidate list in municipal, regional and parish elections.
Membership is open, and the website invites people to join and take part in local decision-making. The branch appears at market squares, events and public gatherings to meet residents. It is active on Facebook and Instagram, and can be contacted through its office address or the e-mail address on the website.
