The municipal utility supplies drinking water and handles wastewater in sewered areas. Drinking water comes from Hirsijärven Vesi Oy and is soft, with a hardness of 0.4 mmol/l. Wastewater travels through a transfer sewer to Lakeuden Keskuspuhdistamo in Kempele. Networks comprise about 310 km of water pipes, 142 km of sewers and 14 km of stormwater sewers.
A fault reporting line operates around the clock, and water test results are published online. Water and sewer services in the Temmes area are run by Liminka Vesihuolto Oy.
