Founded in 1952, the non-profit rescue association serves the three Ostrobothnian regions. Members include contract fire brigades, municipalities, companies, associations and individuals. It runs youth, women's and senior fire brigade activities, plus fire safety, first aid, preparedness and civil defence training.
Members receive legal advice through Fenno law firm and help with grant applications. Training equipment, including a fire engine, smoke machine and extinguisher trainers, can be borrowed. The training room is available for members' meetings and courses when free.
