This is the central church of the Evangelical Lutheran parish, designed by architect Martti Paalanen. Construction began in 1937, it was completed in autumn 1939 and inaugurated on 5 November 1939. It seats about 1,100 people. The altar bears Lennart Segerstråle's fresco Tulkoon sinun valtakuntasi (1953–1954), said to be the largest altar fresco in the Nordic countries at over 240 square metres. The entrance hall has a stained glass window by Y. Forsström, and the concrete pulpit is decorated with wood carvings by T. J. Korpi. The bell tower is 35 metres high.
Sunday communion services are normally held at 10:00, and the church also hosts concerts and music events. The entrance, toilet and a parking space are wheelchair accessible, there is an induction loop and room for prams, and a defibrillator is on site.
