Founded in 1932, the Lutheran parish grew from a factory community whose parish began in 1866. The main church was built in 1937–1939, with an altar fresco painted by Lennart Segerstråle in 1954. The parish belongs to Rautalampi deanery and Kuopio diocese.
Services include funerals and burials, a social support office and a charity second-hand shop. An accessible route to the parish office runs through the inner courtyard. The parking area and toilet are accessible too.
