The museum centre is housed in the Tehtaan koulu building. It runs the Varkautelaisten uusi museo project, which aims at more experiential, informal ways to approach cultural heritage. The building has a free space for residents to spend time, exhibitions and events, the Lasten tehdas children's workshop and the Naatti! city garden project. The Konstin Valinta museum shop sells its own products, and rental spaces are available.
The Museum Card and the Kaikukortti culture card are accepted. The Varkauden Museonystävät association, founded in 2015, offers volunteering and member benefits. The hearing loop, car park, entrance and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
