The restaurant occupies a building completed in 1913, originally built as the people's canteen for the A. Ahlström works. The hall's protected functionalist clock and original floor tiles remain in place. A weekday buffet lunch with soup, hot dishes and dessert is served, and according to the website the chicken and meat are domestic. The owner can give a guided history tour of the building.
The main hall seats about 150, and the Ruukki cabinet about 50 and can be joined to the hall. Weddings, christenings, memorial events, Christmas parties and concerts are held here. Meeting packages, a Christmas buffet and theatre packages with Varkauden Teatteri tickets are available. Dogs are welcome, parking in the yard is free and the restaurant stands beside main road 23. Accessible seating, parking and toilet are available.
