This private day care centre was founded in 1963 in Tapiola and cares for 21 children aged 3 to 6. The week has a set rhythm: music on Mondays, small-group activities on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and an outdoor or excursion day on Thursdays. According to its website, the learning environment is calm and process-oriented, with less pressure to perform. Good manners, tolerance and shared responsibility are taught, and older children mentor the younger ones.
Care relationships are long-term, with the same staff until school age. The team includes a director who is an early childhood teacher, a preschool teacher and early childhood nurses. Staff talk with parents daily. Applications can be sent by email, and admissions are decided each year in March and April.
