The restaurant is run by Jyränkölän Setlementti, a social enterprise. Its name draws on the Niemelä manor and the history of the Kymi river area. Everyday and festive menus use ingredients from the local area. Breakfast and a buffet lunch are served daily, with a salad buffet, hot food, a bread selection and coffee.
The Residenssi cabinet and the Sirenius hall suit coffee gatherings, family and friends' parties, memorial events and private functions. Jyränkölä was founded in 1944 for adult education and child and youth work, and belongs to the Arvo association, the Finnish Settlement Association and the International Federation of Settlements. Profits go to social good, and over 140 volunteers give more than 26,000 hours a year. The restaurant holds the Key Flag mark for domestic origin of services. Seating, the car park, the entrance and the toilet are wheelchair accessible.
