This event hall is in the inner bastion ring of Suomenlinna, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The vaulted rooms have soft acoustics, and the hall is known as a popular wedding venue; it also suits seminars and performing arts. The building dates from the 1750s, the present bakery section was completed in 1775, and it served as a grain store before the 1998 renovation. Earlier uses include a prison barracks, a submarine battery charging station and storage, and Valmet workshop space. The Museum Authority owned it from 1964 until it was converted to event use in 1998.
Besides the main hall there are a cloakroom, a large heating kitchen and two back rooms with toilets. Equipment includes a fixed stage, wired and wireless microphones, a projection screen, Bluetooth and HDMI connections and a speaker podium. Tables and chairs for 200 people are provided, and a grand piano is available on request. The hall is on the second floor, and a personal lift for wheelchair users can be arranged in advance. The entrance and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
