This Helsinki café is run by a mother and her two daughters, who come from a family of Karelian pie bakers. The traditional recipes come from an ancestor known as Meri-mummo (Grandma Meri), and the specialities are wholegrain rye pies with rice-free fillings, such as groats or potato. All the food is plant-based, made on site and served fresh.
Drinks include plant-based specialty coffees, tea, responsibly produced vegan wines, changing mocktails and cocktails, and soft drinks. Ingredients are locally grown and follow the seasons. The entrance is not step-free.
