This art café sits on the shore of Töölönlahti Bay in Helsinki, on the ground floor of the Blue Villa, a building whose history goes back to 1896. Local art covers the walls, and the terrace and leafy garden look across the bay to the Opera House and Finlandia Hall.
Cakes, pies and pastries are made in-house with seasonal ingredients, including gluten-free and vegan cakes. Coffee comes from Lehmus Roastery in Lappeenranta and other drinks from small Finnish producers. Lunch every day brings creamy salmon soup, savoury pies, filled breads and bagels. You order at the counter, tables cannot be booked, and dogs are allowed. It is open all year, weather permitting.
