This park in Helsinki's Vanhakaupunki area forms one landscape with Kellomäki hill and Kirkkorinne, and archaeological digs took place here in the early 1930s and in 1989–1993. In its northern part stands the city's 400th-anniversary memorial, designed by Yrjö Rosola and unveiled in 1950, with reliefs of King Gustav Vasa and the first town plan. An obelisk on Kellomäki marks Gustav II Adolf's meeting with the Finnish estates, and Kirkkorinne has old graves.
The area of about 2.4 hectares was designed in 2000 and is managed as meadow. Information boards along an archaeological trail explain its history. The entrance is step-free, the park is suitable for children, and dogs are allowed.
