This City of Helsinki primary school has about 240 pupils in grades 1–6. Co-teaching is central: class teachers work in pairs together with special needs, resource and subject teachers. The focus is on expression skills and drama, and lessons make use of nearby forests and seashores, excursion sites around the city and digital environments.
English starts in grade 1, optional Spanish or German in grade 3 and Swedish in grade 6. The lit, covered entrance is step-free, a lift sized for wheelchairs links the two floors, and there is an accessible toilet on the entrance floor.
