Founded in 1945, this Helsinki music school is run by the Munkkiniemen Musiikkiyhdistys association and works in a school building owned by the City of Helsinki, mainly for children and young people from the western parts of the city. It offers music school studies, music theory and orchestras, as well as early childhood music education, including a music playschool. The school also organises the Pieni iltasoitto concert series.
Enrolment is through the school's website, and students log in to the Eepos system. A café is open on weekdays. A visit usually lasts from 45 minutes to two hours. The entrance is not step-free, and the website is in Finnish only.
