Standing on Narinkka Square in the heart of Helsinki, this wooden chapel was built for quiet reflection and for meeting people. It was designed by Mikko Summanen, Niko Sirola and Kimmo Lintula of K2S Architects. The 11.5-metre building has spruce outer walls, alder inner walls and ash fittings, the altar cross is by silversmith Antti Nieminen, and the silk paraments are by textile artist Tiina Uimonen.
Everyone is welcome. No Sunday services are held here, though concerts take place from time to time. The entrance and toilet are wheelchair accessible.
