This Helsinki trattoria sits on a canal shore with a view across the water to Suomenlinna, and describes itself as the oldest restaurant in the area. Everything is made in-house, from Mediterranean dishes such as stuffed vine leaves and crispy sigara börek pastries to lamb, which the house recommends. Bread is baked on site, and desserts include house tiramisu and ice cream from Magi.
The terrace faces east and west, with 30 seats outside and a few more indoors, and guests can also arrive by boat. At lunchtime the à la carte menu is available alongside lunch. Phone ahead to check for a table, especially at weekends and on public holidays. A children's menu and high chairs are available.
