This City of Helsinki sandy beach lies in Ellen Thesleff Park, and its pond was built in a former water treatment basin. The basin is filled with water from Lake Päijänne and is less than two metres deep.
Facilities include a changing shelter, a shower, toilets and an outdoor gym, and lifeguards are on duty during the swimming season. In summer, water temperature and blue-green algae updates are shown on the ulkoliikunta.fi map service. The beach is easy to reach by public transport, and drivers can use city car parks north of the beach or the paid Lammenranta multi-storey car park. The entrance is step-free, and service is in Finnish and Swedish.
