This City of Helsinki beach is on the Vantaanjoki river and has a soft sandy shore. There are lawns, game fields, basketball and beach volleyball courts and an outdoor gym, plus a changing room, shower and toilet. The sauna has a free public session on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The water deepens quickly, currents can be strong, and jumping from the rock is dangerous. Lifeguards are on duty in the bathing season. The beach is about a 20-minute walk from Oulunkylä railway station, and the nearest accessible parking space is under 50 metres away. The gravel route is flat and wide apart from one steep hill, but the sauna has no space for a wheelchair. Service is in Finnish and Swedish.
