This non-profit association works with young people in Finland. In its Sisukas koulu (Gutsy School) method, primary and lower secondary pupils develop solutions to problems in their own city or community and film them as videos. The aim is to strengthen young people's sense of involvement and wellbeing, and the method was created in response to youth social exclusion and polarisation.
Projects include teaching digital skills to people released from prison and a bullying prevention campaign. Nearly 10,000 young people and teachers in Finland and Estonia have taken part, and the method won Finland's largest innovation award. Its impact has been measured together with the Duodecim medical society and the Youth Research Society. The association also sells a youth-designed clothing collection, made with Paitakulma and not aimed at profit.
