The trade union represents about 5,000 teachers from city comprehensive and upper-secondary schools, private contract schools and the Finnish-language adult education institute. It handles members' interests and employment advice with staff representatives and occupational safety representatives.
Members can attend training and recreational events and participate in board elections and the annual autumn meeting. The office is in the Akava building.
