Founded by seven unions in 1991, the cooperation body brings together professional unions affiliated with Akava. It aims to strengthen member democracy and cooperation between the confederation and its bargaining federations.
Member unions participate in bargaining and agreement work through the body and gain representation within Akava. A training group established in 1992 runs shop steward training. Activities have also included projects on public-sector pay levels.
