Founded in 1996, the NGO works for environmental protection, justice, equality and peace. It belongs to the Friends of the Earth International network, founded in 1971, and is politically and religiously independent. Its work has local, national and international dimensions.
Activities include campaigning on mining issues and climate-friendly vegetarian food, with recipes available online. Membership is open. Action plans and activity reports can be downloaded, and the website is available in Finnish, Swedish and English.
