Founded in 1989, the non-profit association works to preserve old cultivated and ornamental plants, native livestock breeds and cultural landscapes. It also promotes self-sufficiency skills and appreciation of them.
Activities include seed exchange, local groups, trips and an image archive. The association publishes a magazine, with digital issues and seed catalogues sold through its online shop. It selects a plant, animal and cultural landscape of the year.
