Founded in 1986, this is a Swedish-language national association for people with hearing loss and their relatives. Its member associations offer activities, knowledge and peer support in Swedish. Courses are arranged for Swedish-speaking people with hearing impairment, including ones on living with a new hearing aid, aiming to give tools for everyday life and a better quality of life through peer support.
A network of volunteer hearing advisers gives information and helps with hearing aids. The association publishes Vi hörs, the only Swedish-language magazine in Finland on hearing issues, and keeps a materials bank of brochures and flyers to download or order. It also organises digital lectures, seminars and webinars and works for accessibility in public spaces, such as functioning hearing loops.
